How diamond painting works
Six simple steps from blank canvas to finished art.
Peel back the film
Lift a small section of the protective film to reveal the sticky, pre-printed canvas underneath.
Pick a symbol
Choose a symbol on the canvas to work on. Each one maps to a single diamond color.
Match the color
Find the bag of diamonds whose number matches that symbol, and pour a few into the tray.
Load the pen
Dip the applicator tip into the wax so it can pick up a diamond cleanly.
Pick up a diamond
Touch the pen to the faceted top of a diamond to lift it from the tray.
Place and repeat
Press the flat side onto the matching symbol. Repeat, and watch the picture come to life.

If you're new, a smaller canvas is a gentle place to start, but bear in mind that larger canvases hold far more detail and end up looking more vivid and realistic. If you want all the glorious detail, size up.
